Comparing Video Game Rental Programs

Comparison of Gamefly's video game rental program with other video game rental programs.

GottaPlay

GottaPlay operates similarly to Gamefly.  GottaPlay has free delivery and returns by mail and no due dates or late fees.  GottaPlay does offer more rental options at a tiered pricing structure.

2 games out at a time    $19.95 a month
3 games out at a time    $24.95 a month
4 games out at a time    $29.95 a month
5 games out at a time    $34.95 a month
6 games out at a time    $39.95 a month

Critique: Offers a good variety of rental plans. However, GottaPlay tends to be out of stock on popular video game titles.  Customers often have to be put on a waiting list for video games.

EB Games

EBgames.com

EB Games operates similarly to Gamefly.  EB Games has free delivery and returns by mail and no due dates or late fees.

2 games out at a time    $18.95 a month
3 games out at a time    $23.95 a month
5 games out at a time    $39.95 a month

Critique: EB Games is a $1 cheaper a month than VeeGeeZ and Gamefly.  One feature that sets EB Games apart from its competitors is the customer's ability to rent Imported video games, which are unavailable in the USA.

Gamestop

GameStop, Inc.

Gamestop operates similarly to Gamefly.  Gamestop has free delivery and returns by mail and no due dates or late fees.

1 games out at a time    $14.95 a month

2 games out at a time    $19.95 a month

Critique: Gamestop offers 2 advantages not provided by its competitors. Firstly, it is the only online video game rental program that offers a 1 video game rental program.  Secondly, and most importantly, it is the only online video game rental program that includes the video game manual along with the video game rental. This can be essential to the more complicated video games.
